It started:
Not totally sure if this is a Sir Chris Hoy moment, or a Sir Steve Redgrave ("If you ever see me in a boat, you have permission to shoot me.") one but a retirement one, it probably is.
Well for this year it turns out its Sir Steve Redgrave – as in "If you see me putting on a game at Salute again you have permission to shoot me!"
Yes folks the retirement has lasted all of Salute 2014!
The trio of idiots know to themselves (and Salute organisers) as Uxbridge Wargamers are back!
Truth is, although we went last year, we missed the pain and in the meantime we started playing "Longstreet"! So now having something new to show the passing throng, we thought "To Hell with it, why not!"
So at least for 2015, retirement has been put on hold and we will be there trying to explain "Longstreet" and what we are up to on the day, to as many of you lovely people as we can, via a game roughly twice the size of a regular "Longstreet" set up.
Sad to say it won't be a participation game, due to size and the lack of numbers of us running it but we will be happy to talk newcomers through the wonders and pitfalls of a different style of gaming.
