Getting ready to add another battalion to my "big units" Napoleonics project. Here is the unit getting glued to popsicle sticks in readiness for priming:

I'll add photos here as the unit progresses. I'm timing myself to see just how long it takes to do a battalion of 288 figures in 6mm.

I am really interested to see how this goes…

I'm very interested to see how this goes. Planning to do some 6mm naps myself soon.

Yeah, the point for me is to be able to do 2:1 and see how the drill and tactics actually worked. With ground scale so out of whack, all you end up with are fancy counters otherwise.

Well I've got one battalion of infantry and two cavalry regiments done so far…

Mark, what rules are you planning on using?

I'll end up writing my own naturally.

I'm not going to do a huge collection like this. A French brigade against a British for the Peninsula. Throw in a little cav for color and done.

My idea is to have a fast and fun game that shows what these formations really looked like.

I still need a good picture of a deployed battery…

I painted up some test strips last night. It's been a while since I painted Napoleonics and I needed to get my "mojo" back. They are okay so will go in the middle rank. I did one stick (6 strips, half a company) in about 45 minutes, but that involved checking references, choosing colors. i should be able to get that down to 30 minutes per. So I'm thinking 12 hours total painting time, plus another two hours to prep, prime and base. Not bad…

I'm working on my Baccus Prussians. 288 Reserve infantry and 288 Landwehr. Curious to see how you're doing.
