played a naval thunder game. using operation pedestal as scenario. if the convoy did not meet malta. malta would surrender august 13,1942 , problem was no stats for supply ships.

we came up with a way to incorporate subs and aircraft as miniatures.

the Italian cruiser fleet was repulsed.

the convoy was attacked by aircraft and subs. only 4 ships made it. yes the ss ohio did make it.

we randomized attack on supply ships. the axis player did not know which as more important than others.

we came up with hourly flow chart for aircraft. one turn launching., one turn flight time. one turn on target. one turn recovery. each turn represents an hour.

if aircraft hit. roll 1d 10. 1-5 damaged, 6+ destroyed.

you can take two damaged aircraft to make one flight worthy.

researching supply freighter/ tnker stats.

ss ohio 10,000 tons. had two aa guns.
rest were 7,500 tons with 1 aa gun.

ok to email me if you want a free copy of our aircraft turn sequensce.

Sounds good and semi reassuring that you effectively got a historic result. Well done.

found the stats on tankers.

Played the game at our local game day.

I found out anybody wanting to recreate this historic battle.

you need a fair amount of destroyers and aircraft.

also,

you need at least 3 British players. 2 axis players as a minimum.

ideal is 4 British players each commanding a naval squadron.

3 axis players. two for each squadron and an air marshal for planes.

the date is august 12th, 1942. if you go on the 13th. deduct 3 British cruisers, two freighters. a damaged OHIO tanker that MUST reach Malta.

4 destroyers lashed on and brought her in with half a load.

will start a blog site and post so you can have more details.

if you want the combatants.
