You mean that over sized armoured Box, that is cannot be fitted in transport planes, that ( in Bdw) has very little armament and does allow infrantry to fight from it?
Pre Bmp/ IFV thinking.
Fitting for an ambulance…

A costly one.

I've read some interesting Iraq AARs from Stryker brigade combat teams, which are pretty similar. Some positive aspects of big wheeled APCs:

-high road speeds allow for good operational mobility
-generally lower (mileage-based) maintenance than tracked vehicles
-better IED survivability than tracked IFVs
-slightly more dismounts (which you desperately need in an urban COIN environment)

Sure, I wouldn't want to use them to conduct/support a mechanized movement to contact in the rolling countryside, but they aren't a totally useless class of vehicle.

These are really quite good. In service also with the Dutch army in Afghanistan. They are proof against the things like the typical RPG's they are likely to meet. They are an APC not an IFV so you do to want a Bradley type (jack of all trades but master of none). They have been well received in the 'Stan. One of the next games I want to try them out. As with most new vehicles the is the issue of weight in more rural areas where the bridges are not strong enough for them.
