A great loss. I've been going there since they were at Bonnie Brea.

Sad day. I bought my first miniatures there in 1976.

I used to buy Featherstone's Newsletter there in the early 70s. I had no idea it still existed.

Back in the 70's I believe they had quite a mailorder business.

I started in this hobby in the mid 70's out of their south University location.
There was a guy there at the time named Chester who really helped me get started. Between Bonnie Brae and Attactix; I was very lucky here in the Denver area for many many years. Those were the days my friends.

A hobby shop that survived 54 years! That is amazing. I bet it is/was a great place.

Wow…that sucks. I lived in Denver back in the 70's and 80's and loved Bonnie Brae Hobbies. I was poor then, but still enjoyed drooling over the display of Solido tanks and other similar stuff….and I bought a boardgame or two after I got older and had some spending money. Times have changed and the Internet has helped the hobby a lot, but there was something special about spending time walking around a hobby store like Bonnie Brae's or Colpar Hobbies.

Hlaven,

I also have fond memories of Chester. I believe he went to work for the VA before Bonnie Brea hobbies moved from the Bonnie Brea area to Broadway. My wife and I would end up down there (on Bonnie Brea) about once a month or more. A visit to the hobby shop followed by Mexican lunch at Campus Lounge. I've been back to Campus Lounge and the food was not up to par.

I've been visiting them since about 1974 off and on as I wandered from one town to another--great place, and they will be missed!

OK, story from when they were in the Bonnie Brae district. I was passing through town one day after a severe storm hit the Denver area. Branches down, power out all over, but they were open. No electricity, you could hardly see the stuff in the back of the store. They had that lovely mechanical cash register, so no problem buying things!

Pity, remember going in to shop when visiting Denver 30 years ago and then off and on over the years while I lived on the Metro area.

Sorry to hear it.

They were all good friends to us all. A bit of Denver Wargame history passes. I wish them all the very best!
