I think that I got it from HalMWAN, maybe in the late 70's or '80's sometime.

Does anyone know who made it? It's very heavy and seems to be made out of some kind of casting stone. It comes with everything that you see here and it all fits together in multiple variations. I just Dulcoted it, as it was glossy.

I have two complete sets. I am wondering if it was meant to be two redoubts connected by those earthen mounds.

Anyone recognize it?

It was originally made by Village Green as part of a range of fortified Bleeped texts for a Dutch themed game.
I am not sure who has the Village Green moulds now and if they kept this piece in a range.

I am very curious to know what word got bleeped out from that response…

Almost certainly Dyke. The bleep m/c has this as derogatory when spelled with a small d but not a capital.

Village Green were taken over by a company called Stronghold Miniatures. Stronghold had some problems and I'm not sure if they're trading any more. Shame because there was some nice stuff in the Village Green range, including a dhow that I'd been hoping to get.

How much of my stuff do you have? My gosh! This was by Village Green. They made a lot of neat things. They are now owned by Stronghold Miniatures in the UK but apparently Stronghold Miniatures has had some difficulties for some time. This was a great set!

Want it back?

Chokidar13 Apr 2015 3:14 a.m. PST

That IS a pity – Stronghold also had some rather neat 18th century highwaymen, civilians, cut-purses etc. that I never got around to getting! Particularly the civilians.
Damn!

I don't remember Stronghold having any highwaymen

Are you sure you're not confusing them with Outpost Wargames services?

I loved Village Green Items.I bought a FFL fort and had it painted over there. It was very nice. They had some FIW items that I* bought also.Stronghold's website is terrible and I really don't think they do too much.
