Look like Turkmen, not Arabs, don't you think? |

The horses look a bit massive, the headgear like like an 18th century fez and the coats look more Ottoman/Balkan then Arab. In other words: just fine :-) These might actually work for as a base for 16th century Akinci. Once they are available I will get me one box of each just to see what these can be used for. |

Look like Turkmen, not Arabs, don't you think? That's what I thought… Perhaps you can swap heads with the Arab infantry sets and end up with something a little more… arab? |

I'm hoping that the heavy cav look a bit more like something I can use for 2nd crusade. I have the left over heads from the foot box, they may come in useful now. The horses look kind of generic, not like your basic Arabian. Some very bright colors on the trappings may make them look better. Some sprue shots will be helpful. I'll probably buy a box of each anyway. |

Several companies are taking pre-orders. I'm sure that their sales would increase with some pictures of the sprues. It will determine the number of boxes I pre-order. |

Glad you enjoyed them boys. Agree about Turkmen. Amicalement Armand |

These are well painted and I'd like to see the sprues as well. Look useful as nomadic horsemen for various periods. The daylight between horse and rider on the top left figure is not a good look. |

Nice looking fellas. Obviously GB thought it's not feasible to call them by the title "Medieval light cavalry which can be done as Turcomans, Syrians, Arabs, Kurds and the likes" or something like that, and instead went for a generic (although a bit confuse) "Arab light cavalry" (or heavy), guessing that wargamers would see both the inexactitude of the title and the possibilities of the miniatures. And obviously they have judged that we can carry on with a generic title and just be very happy to have cheap good quality Arab (or Syrian, or Turcoman, or Turcople, or Kurd, or whatever, you get my point; they are not Arab, neither muslim or eastern, as they can play as Andalusians, or Turcoples, etc.) cavalry. ;-) Historically the gear they carry and clothing they wear is spot on, depending on which kind of troops you want to depict. A win-win for GB! |

I am looking forward to see what can be done when mixing these with the FF Mongols. |
tigrifsgt | 14 Apr 2015 4:37 a.m. PST |
That is if FF can ever come up with heavy mongols. At this point it seems doubtful at best. Right now two years in the making. |

There are some shots of the heavies on the GB site. Gotta say, for what I want these for, I like these much better than the light cav. These are kind of generic also, but appear to have more possibilities. Mixing the two boxes should give me what I'm looking for. |

I'm thinking with a bit of kitbashing (alternate heads, mostly) they'd do nicely for some Andalusian cavalry sorts for Saga – I've been using the Conquest Normans as some Christian mercs/vassals, but these will be nice to add some nice blues and greens and other colours for the cavalry. |

The "Arab" heavy cavalry look quite nice.
