Take a look at: link

How do I get something like this printed? Who does this? I found a company online called Spoonflower that does digital printing and will print your custom design. Is this who I call?

Give Staples / Office Depot a call, I think they have a service that will print as well. Not sure if it is cheap though

I thought of the Staples, etc. service as well. They can do large format jobs (poster & sign size). Also, would be interesting to look at giving it to a custom T-shirt printer to screen print. Not sure what size capabilities they may have.

The question is whether Staples or Office Max can print on fabric. And if they offer fabric choices. Worth checking.

I don't think they do that, though they can print on banner material, which is like a coated nylon, or plastic material.

I found these companies that print on fabric. I would contact them and see what they can do.

I have no idea what the quality or image resolution is, bur Walmart will print blankets from your photos at either 50x60" or 60x80"

You are probably talking about printers that are used to doing banners and signage for exhibitions and events.

It is not going to be cheap.

Spoonflower does good quality work. I still have a fabric mat I use for X wing from them.

Schogun12 Apr 2015 10:40 a.m. PST

Todosi -- please tell more. What size? what fabric? How was price? Did your design cover the entire mat or was it repeated?

Thanks

That Walmart one looks worth a try!

Schogun13 Apr 2015 7:53 a.m. PST

Checked with Staples and Office Max/Depot. Nope. Just paper. They can supply printed T-shirts, etc. but they do not do the printing themselves.

The Walmart blanket does look intriguing. Wouldn't be able to meet their recommended minimum resolution of 2400x2000 pixels, but I'm not printing faces or anything requiring detail.

Hmmm – the Wal Mart blanket does look promising! Now where can I find a photo of a hex or square grid over European fields?
