Looks like the votes are in and the winner is the War of Spanish Succession. They are hoping to launch the website in June. And it looks like it will be a subscription service. |

I voted for WSS so am happy. The SYW is so good and I really like the layout. I hope the WSS layout will be the same. Regards |

And it looks like it will be a subscription service. "37% who are not ready to pay to get access to our new wiki on the War of the Spanish Succession" link |

If it's anything like their Seven Years War compendium, I shall deem it money well spent! |

To answer Broglie's question, yes the WSS layout will be similar to the one used for the SYW. However, it will be based on an annual subscription (20 $CAD). To manage expectations, I have to say that it will take years to reach the level of coverage offered by "Project SYW" but there will be a constant flow of new or improved articles on a weekly basis. I voted for WSS so I am "in" for it! A small price to pay to obtain such valueable and well researched out materials. |

Apologies for resurrecting this thread. I've just subscribed to this new service and, although early days, must say that this a great start. Like many people, I've been a fan of the SYW site for years and am really pleased that they have decided to extend the coverage. I'm looking forward to the journey. Phil |
