Had a bit of a break from mini gaming for a good while now and coming back to it thought I's move to 6mm for a bit of a dalliance. Picked up a few minis from GZG and Brigade, nothing major, 6 tanks, 3 APC's, 12 GZG mech's and a splattering of infantry… Question is, are there any rulesets for small scale skirmishes designed for or easily compatible with 6mm minis? Ta in advance… |

Any good skirmish system should work with minor or no changes. |

Anything written for 15mm that uses inches for measurement. Simply treat inch as centimeter and it is a perfect fit. Does GZG's Stargrunt use inches? If so that would work. Tomorrow's War from Ambush Alley will work using this tip. |

Stargrunt, FUBAR, Tomorrow's War, my own FiveCore or No Stars in Sight, 5150 and a bunch others :) Most 6mm skirmishers just use the same rules the "big boys" use. Your call on downscaling to cm or staying with inches. It is somewhat advantageous to use games that don't require you to track too many unique individuals, since the figures are smaller. |

Tomorrow's War would work just fine. Play as written in inches. It'd give you pretty close to 1:1 figure:ground scale. |

Hammer's Slammers The Crucible. It specifically covers 6mm forces in the same way as it does for the larger scales: what you've got sounds just about fine for a force. HELLFIRE would be good . . . if you could find it. Small unit and mainly infantry actions, depending strongly on troop morale and actions. |

I have a set of Napoleonic rules written by Peter Dennis and Cliff Knight which I got off ebay recently. You can use 2mm and 6mm figures in these rules. |

Most Napoleonic gamers go easy on the grav tanks and mechs though :-) |

I think The Crucible, Strike Legion and Future War Commander … IMO … |

Strike Legion has a skirmish version doesn't it? The standard version is team stands for the infantry. |

I think so ? |

Yes; Strike Legion Platoon Leader. Teams may be mounted on single bases or as individual figures, and the rules work well with scales from 6mm up to 28mm. Free demo version here: link |

Currently playing 40K with 6mm on a 1" hexgrid. Seems to flow well with a few modifications. Marines have communications and don't have to be close enough to hold hands. Not a big fan of Epic vehicles, so I'm using DZC vehicles and grafting 40k stats on them. |
