What rule sets would you recommend for refighting the battles of Wolfe and Clive? Small forces, but battles rather than skirmishes. Would any of the popular sets of rules for army battles stretch down to this size? |

Volley and Bayonet can be played at the appropriate level. In fact, there was a privately published supplement for Clives campaigns done a few years ago. |

"Highlanders and Habitants" was specifically written for the French and Indian War, and I suspect it could be used for Clive's campaigns with very few modifications. |

Our Moccasins Trickled Blood works well for battles with a few battalions and companies per side. I don't think it would handle the huge native armies of India. |

I will be using BAR and Black Powder for Wolfe/Montcalm's Quebec but I suppose they aren't small battles necessarily. It depends on your representative troop scale. |

500 Fighting Englishmen? I thought it was 800 Fighting Englishmen? |

@Major: You are probably right. I didn't count the 300 men down with various fevers and dysentery. |

As mentioned British Grenider would do this well. There is in fact a scenario for Quebec in the deluxe version. |
