Hey people, I'm dusting off my figures and boardgames and looking for some fellow gamers in Hamilton. I had attended a MIGS-Con in the past so thought I'd start my search with MIGS. I'm drawing a blank, has my googleFu escaped me, or are these guys no longer active. The website I have for them isn't working anymore, so I guess I'm drawing a blank. If anyone can point me in the right direction, or in a different direction or if any of you Hamilton gamers want to get together, let me know. Cheers! |

Don't believe they exist anymore. If you REALLY want to chase something like that up and find out, Lembit Tohver is the games designer for "Against the odds", he was intimately involved in the club and he can probably give you some background. There are a few ex-MIGS members on TMP too that may chime in. This also seemed promising, but….no updates: councilfires.ca |

This seems to be something new, if you want to look into it: holdtheline.ca |

Yeah, I had a feeling they were no longer around. Thanks for letting me know. Hamilton is a large city to be without an established gaming group. I'm hoping there's something else out there I just haven't encountered yet. I had tried to get out to Hold the Line last year, but ended up dealing with a gas leak the morning of the convention and just couldn't get out there. I'm intending to make it out this year. Cheers. |

I know there are some guys in that area, I've met a few at Hotlead and some occasionally stray out to the east side of Toronto where I get my gaming in (I'm in Peterborough). Not sure how many are on here, maybe Hold the Line and Hotlead could have a social bulletin board sort of thing where one can post one's contact info/interests/locale. |

They're not quite dead yet. Not many left though, and the only open gaming I know of is Sunday afternoons about 1 – 5 pm. They're still in the basement at 596 Concession (I think). |

MIGS still exists. Gaming has changed over the years and a lot of guys now game with a few friends in their basements. At MIGS itself there isn't any specific gaming time at the club anymore. Rather, groups form around specific interests and game at times arranged between them (in modern terms this is called networking!) There is an active boardgaming group at MIGS and I play Impetus on Sunday evenings with a few guys. There are a couple of other groups I could put you in touch with depending on what your interest is. Email me at mark.w.rutledge@gmail.com for more details. |
