Many thanks JJ :-) In answer to your questions: I started this back in November I think, have only had short periods of time to work on it… I am hoping to game with it, I'm creating a semi-historical campaign based in Hida province, plenty of small clans, with the Ikko-Ikki to the west, the Takeda and Uesugi to the east. Space is at a premium here so everything gets stored on a very small shelf! Next up I'm thinking of expanding the castle town/village, maybe adding a lighthouse, dock sides, boats etc… time will tell… I have yet to get all my figures painted too… GAH!! :-D

WOW! and WOW!

rmaker09 Apr 2015 1:18 p.m. PST

Beautiful, but that furry monster could be a problem.

Jamesonsafari09 Apr 2015 2:27 p.m. PST

Boo-yah! that's seriously cool.

Jamesonsafari09 Apr 2015 2:28 p.m. PST

The Great Cat of Kamioka is pretty cute too.

Many thanks ironicon, rmaker & Jamesonsafari :-) The great Cat is very cute… and not really a problem either :-D

Seriously class work there Snake777. Some of the low angle shots of the courtyard look amazingly lifelike.

I don't know much about paper models, will it be strong enough to be used on a wargames table?

Snake77709 Apr 2015 5:56 p.m. PST

Many thanks Cuchulainn :-) My stuff is well reinforced with 1.5mm greyboard, wax and varnish, the finished articles are pretty robust, and easily repairable, afew dents also add to the realism I find :-D

I still find it hard to believe that the castle roof is just printed paper and doesn't have real 3D tiles

Great work Stu

John

very cool! great work.

Snake77710 Apr 2015 7:18 a.m. PST

Many thanks John & Derek :-) @ John… it's all theatrical really, the textures are laid over corrugated card and then distressed mightily…!

Mike O10 Apr 2015 12:54 p.m. PST

Everything about these are amazing and inspirational. The construction, selection of printed textures, use of colour and weathering in the paintwork. Not to mention the photography and lighting – had to do a double take at a couple as they looked so "real".

Also a great boost for 1/72 plastic figures with the Zvezda samurai showcased beautifully.

Thank you warhawkwind & Durruti, I greatly appreciate your comments :-)

@ Durruti – Good natural light helps with the suspension of disbelief :-) and my stuff looks much better from a distance!! :-D Thank you again…
