Like many other wargamers I'm nearly buried up to my neck in unpainted lead and never seem to be able to complete a project as I am constantly flipping from one project to another. So I decided to hire a professional painter, to complete my ACW armies. The service I settled on was Turbil Miniatures which is run by a husband and wife team and they gave me an estimated turnaround time of 3 months. They also said they would give me regular progress updates. So my first job is to clean up the miniature's and then post them to Turbil Miniatures so they can begin painting. As soon as I receive a progress report I will update this post. for anyone wishing to see more detail 10mm American Civil War Project

Congrats on your project. You found a pair of very reasonably priced painters. I have thought about doing the same thing for a project; but it up and ship it out. |

Okay as promised, I received an e-mail from Turbil Miniatures last night to inform me that they had started on my figures. I must admit I'm a little bit excited about this and can't wait to see the results. for anyone wishing to see more detail 10mm American Civil War Project. Take care Andy |

Excellent looking mini's and congratulations on the wedding! I have so many unpainted 10mm and find that I get sidetracked so easily as well…I might have to look in to a painting service myself. I'll have to find one that will estimate as I have no idea of what something like this would cost but I bet that it can get pricey. |

I suspect 99% of wargamers will have huge piles of unpainted lead. Obviously having to employ a professional painter is going to cost but, we all lead extremely busy lives and seem to have less time for hobbies so I personally feel it may be the way forward to create your core army. And then you can add units at your leisure. Take care Andy |

I just took April and May and complete the 1500 10mm ACW I had in my pile. But I'm retired and love to paint while watching baseball. No infantry left in the house, just some commanders and guns/gunners left to do. |
