From what I have there were two brigades v. Schwerin: 10th Hussars 1st Uhlans 6th Hussars v. Sydow: 8th Dragoons 8th Hussars I reccommend the new Osprey book that has some great uniform details on different regiments. |

In addition, 1st and 2nd Neumark, 1st and 2nd Pomeranian and 1st to 3rd Silesian Landwehr cavalry. Two of the regiments were attached to the four brigades (2 squadrons each). Commander of IV corps reserve cavalry was General der Kavallerie prince Wilhelm von Preußen (brother of the king). Oberst-Lieutenant v. Sydow was the third brigade commander. The composition of the cavalry brigades and which regiments were assigned to the infantry brigades, could vary from day to day. |

The OOBs are likely confusing because as Oliver indicates the assignments for the individual regiments changed from day to day based on operational needs. The whole structure and employment of a Prussian corps was very flexible, which can make getting the oob "correct" for any given moment difficult. |

My understanding is that the 8th Dragoons were detached and were not present at Waterloo. |

wrgmr1 is right. The 8. Dragoner-Regiment was formed in Halberstadt in May 1815, three squadrons strong. These marched out (leaving back a newly formed reserve squadron) on 1st June 1815. The regiment arrived in Köln (Cologne) shortly after the battle of Ligny. On 12 July, it entered Paris and joined IV army corps. |

Just to confuse things, Nafziger has the following OOB for Waterloo Corps Cavalry: Generalmajor HRH Prince Wilhelm of Prussia lst Brigade: Oberst Count von Schwerin l0th (lst Magdeburg) Hussar Regiment (4) lst Neumark Landwehr Regiment (4) 2nd Neumark Landwehr Regiment (4) lst Pommeranian Landwehr Regiment (4) 2nd Pommeranian Landwehr Regiment (4) 2nd Brigade: Generalmajor von Sydow lst (West Prussian) Uhlan Regiment (4) 6th (2nd Silesian) Hussar Regiment (4) 8th (lst Westphalian) Hussar Regiment (4) 3rd Brigade: Oberstlieutenant von Watzdorff lst Silesian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment (4) 2nd Silesian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment (4) 3rd Silesian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment (4) |

By the way, until 1816, the old line regiments bore provincial names, but no number, whereas those regiments formed newly in 1815, had an ordinal number, but not yet a provincial denomination. Thus: Westpreußisches Ulanen-Regiment, 2. Schlesisches Husaren-Regiment, but 8. and 10. Husaren-Regiment. |
