We have just concluded our first Mex Amer War scenario

The only problem is that the Mexican army is too fragile and units start dissolving once fired at. As the Mexican player I think I fared well in inflicting heavy losses to the enemy. Regimental F&F with its Mex Amer variant QRS brings out an accurate feel of the conflict.

A thoroughly enjoyable wargame

Nice! Good looking minis

We have had the same experience – once morale starts to falter the Mexican army gets fragile real quick

Hi David,

Glad you liked the scenario.

Having game mastered this several times before we published the article I have found that Mexican Army though brittle can win.

Rich and I should be working out the battles in the Valley of Mexico sometime soon.

Best

Nice looking game. I have ran Palo Alto several times for RFF. I would agree with the above posters. The Mexicans are tough to command and once casualties start mounting any coordination goes out the door. But we have had Mexican victories. If you are looking for a coin flip battle then the MAW is not for you. But if you enjoy playing beautifly uniformed units with bad leaders and even worse equipment then the Mexican army is for you.

Very nice. Always good to see the MAW being played.

I enjoyed playing the Mexicans as its more of a challenge but when things get out of hand there's a limit how many negative modifiers for raw rancheros poor one can take while the other is crack gallant and flying artillery.

I will try a triple alliance scenario for a more balanced battle
