Hello all,

This is extremely difficult for us but we have hit "critical mass" in our ongoing issues with getting Dad the help he needs for his recovery. The wargaming community has always come through for us in the past and Christy and I hope we can get your support once again.

We have set up a GoFundMe account for Dad. The details are there and we will post regular updates on his/our progress. As I mention, he's always interested in anything to do with wargaming and TSATF. He's a tough, stubborn Marine and he just needs that extra "boost".

Thanks in advance.

Lori,

Donated and will do a post to help spread the word about Larry in a small way on my blog, and will reach out to at least one other hobby site to help spread the word as well.

Hope you and Christy are doing well and that your dad gets everything he needs to make a strong recovery. My family and I will keep the three of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Yours truly,

Ethan

Lori. I will donate as well. I will forward the link to all my mates and post it on my blog to help get the word out. We will post a flyer at Recon this month as we run (6) TSATF games over that weekend.

I will post your note on the HMGS-South site as well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys! Good luck.

Been making and selling nice 15mm buildings for TSATF and such on EBAY.

Have a nice four building Old Mexico unit I will list tonight, with ALL proceeds going to the Larry Brom Fund!

Will post link here when its up.

Is that OK, Lori? Can I mention that it's a Larry Brom fundraiser on my EBAY listing?

Robert Burke05 Apr 2015 11:59 a.m. PST

I alerted both of my local wargaming groups in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I also said a prayer for Larry at the Easter Vigil Mass last night. It's the season for miracles.

Smokey Roan05 Apr 2015 2:06 p.m. PST

OK, my EBAY Larry Brom Auction is up and you have three days!

Not bragging (who me?) but it is a DAMN nice Old West/Old Mehico Town Center in 15mm. Four buildings joined together. Detailes everywhere, doors with "iron" fittings, roof detail, two removeable roofs, wetahering, exposed brick and damage.

Larry would approve! Plus, the doors are designed for regular 15mm AND perfectly acceptable for the Blue Moon 18s.

This is a cozy, pretty, cool build. Looks like a lot, is only 6" by 2.5" A real space filler that takes up little space!

Help the Broms, AND get a SmokeyRone unique scratchbuild!

Da Vinci? Michealangelo? Preschoolers with crayons!!!!

Free shipping of course!

Can't think of a better way to help the man that got me into wargaming in the first place, and the man who always had time to talk and listen to me grovel at cons!

coopman06 Apr 2015 5:44 a.m. PST

Thank you Smokey. I have some stuff that I am going to try & sell on ebay too, and give the proceeds to Larry. This is a good way to raise some funds.

OK. Auction going well. TMP responding nicely.

Next week during the Canes Baseball series, I'll make a 28 mm n African TSATF building and do another.

A terrific building set and I'd bid if that was my scale!

Smokey Roan08 Apr 2015 6:07 p.m. PST

Thank you Piper!

It sold for 41 bucks! Thanks to everyone for bidding!

I messaged buyer to ask for permission to name him. Awaiting word.

Mad Guru09 Apr 2015 10:06 p.m. PST

Good news -- the running fund-raising total has crossed the $5,000 USD line. But there's still a long way to go, so we need to really keep spreading the word, and buy some more of Smokey's dedicated terrain!

Smokey Roan10 Apr 2015 8:49 a.m. PST

Thank you to the Beast! Hope you enjoy the terrain piece!

Mad Guru01 May 2015 5:12 p.m. PST

Hey everyone,

Fundraising efforts on Larry's behalf seem to have stalled out at the $6,470 USD mark, which considering the overall target goal of $20 USDK, is rather sadly short. Of course, everyone can only do so much, and what is really needed is to reach more new potential donors, but I'm not sure how to pull that one off. I tried by posting the info on another miniature gaming forum but… as of yet that hasn't resulted in any additional donations, so… I want to try something else here at TMP, where I think the membership has already proved itself to be more on the generous side, or maybe we just have a greater number of hardcore TSATF players and fans of Larry Brom:

If someone else will step up and donate the $30 USD needed to reach $6,500.00 USD, I will follow that up by donating $500 USD so the fund can reach the $7 USDK mark.

Well, whether it was an unsung TMP member who chose to remain quiet or just good timing, I'm happy to report the Larry Brom fundraising total crept up to and even a little above that $6,500.00 USD mark, so I just followed through and now it's a little more than $7 USDK. Every little bit helps.
