I spoke with the company on April 3rd and asked about an overdue miniatures order I placed a month ago. The gentlemen at the other end of the line explained that one of their casting machines broke down and they had to wait a month for the replacement part to arrive.

Now that it is up and running, they are several weeks behind on orders, but will try to catch up soon.

I've always found 19th Century Miniatures (Old Glory 15s/Battle Honors) to be pretty quick in filling orders. I wish they would just communicate better with their customers when something like this happens. Sending out emails, placing an announcement on their website and/or facebook page would go a long way to enhancing their reputation.

And here as well.

One gets the impression that 19th Century is blissfully unaware of TMP.

Could explain why War Web is 5 months behind in getting me my order. Not that they will tell us anything.

If your purchase is over $400 USD, you actually get a far better discount if you order through their Nineteenth Century Miniatures site (and better service, apparently). I have not bought anything from War Web in a long time as a consequence.

Looks like 19th Century is getting back on track. Received an order yesterday that I placed on Feb 21. I had emailed them back in March and received an immediate response informing me about the casting machine problem.

Update: I recently contacted 19th Century Miniatures to see how things are going and if they were still working through the mechanical problems. I received a very quick response that is quoted below.

"Everything is fine here, we had one of our casting machines break down in March, it was an older machine that was no longer being produced and as a result we had a difficult time finding parts to repair it with, it was down for three weeks and we got behind in casting orders up, the machine is now back up and running, and we are catching up on the casting."

Glad to hear this and I know I will soon be placing an order!
