There are several TMP threads about Pat one of which asks for a photo. David Raybin and Pat knew each other for 40 years. Pat corresponded with David about mutual interests in mid to late 19th century European conflicts. Here are David and Pat at a 2005 Nashcon.

Pat could research and write very well. Here is a 2001 exchange between David and Pat regarding VON MOLTKE's "armed mob" comment.

Pat's favorite arm was the cavalry which he always said "added tone to the brawl." A profound loss to the wargame community. Our condolences to his family.

Thanks for posting!
I've gone back and started to reread some of his
Articles in the Courier. Great stuff!

Thanks for this Nashville. Although as mentioned in another thread I didn't know Pat at all but since reading so much here it's obvious he was a man that the war gaming community here held in great regard. It's nice to place a face to the name especially since I'm Catholic and it being Good Friday; a day of prayer and remembrance for many. Without any attempt at derailing this very poignant thread a beautiful 16 year old girl next door took her own life last night and to be honest it just puts all in perspective. RIP Pat

Thanks for the photo and the link to the excellent article. Is there more of his writing online?
