If you've been curious about the "In Sight" platoon skirmish rules, you can grab a bundle and save 3 bucks:

You get No End in Sight (cold war/modern) and No Stars in Sight (scifi) along with the rules expansion pack.

I'm sure this can be used for WW2 but I notice modern and cold war in the description.

Is there any advice on converting it?

Weasel03 Apr 2015 12:02 p.m. PST

I've played it "as is" and done fine but I tend not to get bothered by some smaller details.

I have some conversion notes that will make it to the internets at some point and in the remote future, I'd like to do a proper ww2 version with some neat features.

Use the alternate anti-tank system that's included in the download and you can tailor it pretty well. (it's based off the FiveCore system of relative gun/armour comparisons)

OK, granted, I've been a TMPer for ages, but what in blazes does the unicorn mean?

Weasel03 Apr 2015 1:26 p.m. PST

On TMP it certainly does NOT mean what I've seen it mean elsewhere :-)

Tgunner03 Apr 2015 2:13 p.m. PST

I've been looking and I'm getting zip. You kids and your secret signs and handshakes and stuff

(Grumbles)

A flock of unicorns just for you Tgunner

The unicorn became a Christian religious symbol in the art of the Middle Ages but I very much doubt that's what its referencing here :) I know Blue is old but Middles Ages old? Well…

Weasel I'm going to take the plunge here. I've never been let down before with your rules so I'm sure I won't be disappointed :)

Weasel03 Apr 2015 4:13 p.m. PST

Kyote is an old hippie. It probably reminds him of a Hawkwind album or something :-)

Thanks Panda! I think you'll dig. If you get the bundle, read "No Stars" first. I think the writing is a bit clearer in that one.

Rod I Robertson03 Apr 2015 5:08 p.m. PST

Hey, Hawkwind was great and Michael Moorcock was da bomb! Leave the Blue alone, he probably thinks the little unicorns are "My Little Pony" icons and are fun! Don Kyoteblue are you a fan of the punk group "Flock of Unicorns"?
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.

Weasel03 Apr 2015 5:22 p.m. PST

I actually dig Hawkwind a lot :-)

When you listen to them and then realize Lemmy got kicked out for doing too many drugs by their standards… you know they were way tripped out :)

"My Little Pony" "Hawkwind" "Flock of Unicorns" "Moorcock"

Good grief, you give war gamers a bad name :)

Weasel03 Apr 2015 6:10 p.m. PST

We don't have to take that kinda lip from a guy with a panda bear avatar ;)

War Panda03 Apr 2015 6:37 p.m. PST

Hey Weasel do your research; that's a historically accurate portrait of Napoleon during his KISS years ;)

Sold! I've been looking for an excuse to grab these rules.

War Panda03 Apr 2015 7:54 p.m. PST

Okay firstly that video was slowed right down, I mean "right down"…that horse was much much faster than it looks and …had a bunch of other things…and I was jet lagged at the time and a little too much to drink (pop goes right to my head)

Patrick I hope you don't mean seeing a panda on a rocking horse…Weasel's advertising methods are almost as innovative as his rules

They come for the Stress mechanic but they stay for the Pandas
