does the blade end point up or down when wearing it on your belt?

I think the blade end points down. If I remember correctly, it clips to the belt from the opposite end of the blade.

OK, what about a darth maul?

@Maddaz111

I'm not sure if we ever see it attached to his belt. I thought he took it out from behind his back. I'll have to have a look at the film again.

I just had a look at the clip of the beginning of the battle and it looks like it's clipped to his belt in the middle of the dual lightsabre. Not sure how he keeps it straight.

Wow I can't believe I just looked that up. :)

I think blade down, my son disagrees. Believe it or not this doesn't come up on google, so I turn to the true experts, TMP!

I'd say blade down as well, since if you hit the on switch accidentally the other way round, things could get very dicey…….

I believe Luke's was hung from his belt, aperture down. Not sure about Kenobi's, as he usually whisked it out from under his robes.

Yes, Luke's was definitely down.

Not sure about the Dark Lord's.

What Mako said.

Blade down.
Look at any pic of a jedi, it is blade down.
Look at any lightsaber prop and you will see the clip to carry it is on the end.
A jedi would want to grab it and turn it on in hand and not have the blade either go into their face while still on the belt or fumble it as they take it off their belt to fight an opponent as they twirl it in their hands.

Can a Jedi bend the blade with the force, otherwise the light part of a light sabre is pretty strong stuff..

On at least one set of blueprints I have seen they have magnetic clamp style fixings so just stick to the belt.

Blade down. I speak with great authority on this since I saw a guy at a Taco Bell in 1978 wearing a home made light saber clipped to the belt on his jeans. I don't know how much more definitive you can get.

Blade down. Most of the light sabre key rings are attached to the base so it must be fact.

Brother Jim03 Apr 2015 4:50 p.m. PST

No.

Han fired the only shot.

chromedog04 Apr 2015 3:49 p.m. PST

Hard not to shoot first when there's only one shot fired.

:D
