A mermaid with a corset. That's pretty much the definition of "Steampunk", hainna? Victorian Science Fiction is intelligent and witty. Steampunk is stupid. QED |

And, BTW… Why would a mermaid need goggles or a high necked blouse? Hmmmmm? |

Why would a mermaid need goggles or a high necked blouse? Hmmmmm? Now THAT'S the definition… Still, this has a bit of charm to me, and if you paint the corset as part of the blouse, a bit less ludicrous. If one assumes stereotypical Victorian morality and need for eye protection from dry air (think Abe from BPRD), your question I quoted may be diluted, if not actually answered. However, John, keep swinging. We need the watchful eye! Doug |

I am a huge fan of Bombshell Babes, and this would be an excellent addition for one of my In Her Majesty's Name Companies, at least from the waist up! I really have no need of a mermaid, which is a shame, because it's a beautifully sculpted figure. I am reminded of the "Mermaid Song," which was written by Shel Silverstein, I believe, where a sailor falls in love with a mermaid: From her head to her waist she was just my taste But the rest of her was a fish…. Then her sister came swimming by Set my heart in a whirl 'Cause the upper half was an ugly fish But the rest of her was a girl Well, in this case, I'm in love with this figure from her head to her waist: And I loved that girl with all my heart But I only loved the upper part I didn't like the tail ….any conversion advice? |

I actually think, And I could be wrong, That she's intended to portray a human, Wearing a strapped-on fin. That said, I incline to JOFM's view. Regards, Keith F. |
