Seems that a lot of fellow members have been/are in the Army/Navy etc. Just curious to know which was the higher rank each one of them achieved? In my case, was easy…sublieutenant for less one year. Of course this include police, Coast Guards, etc. Thanks in advance for you participation. (smile) Amicalement Armand

Gunner first class. I should have made corporal, but unfortunately was caught during illegal leaving camp for a bar (and the four of us also illegal drove a jeep doing that). I served for 21 months as a radiotelegraphist (I am speaking of 1966-1968). |

Cryptologic Technician Interpretive Second Class (Russian Language) Yep, that was my official rating. Rank was Petty Officer Second Class I had enough money to go to college after that, so I decided not to re-up. |

Signaler, part-time (Territorial army) for about 18 months. My original squadron got axed a little bit over a year after I joined so I transferred to one of the regiment's other squadrons but it was a PITA to get to (actually, more of a problem to get home from after weekday training nights – I missed the last train twice out of the eight times I went there) so I quit. If I'd been able to stick around they were considering me for officer training. |

Specialist E-5, a rank that I am told no longer exists in the US Army. The base pay was the same as a sergeant but the responsibilities were (theoretically) different. My speciality was demolition: explosions of all sizes, with the occasional arson thrown in. LT |
