I started my Berdans sharpshooters a few years ago, lots of conversions, lots of greenstuff. They have drawn some interest lately so here they are

I have done Berdans as well, completely different style though!

Cheers ironicon, thanks for the kind words they are warmly received.

Thanks Jim, I must admit I did consider doing a full regiment all ranked up just to be different, Maybe I still will! Yours have given me food for thought! so we will see

Thanks Frederick, I must admit I am rather proud of them!

The guy shooting across the horses neck, and the guy taking the hit really adds something to the realism. Are Garabaldi Guards too far out to add to your army?

tigrifsgt03 Apr 2015 6:34 a.m. PST

Russ, any thoughts on adding vivandieres to your zouave units?

Pauls Bods03 Apr 2015 7:31 a.m. PST

Great painting/basing and Great scratchwork, especially the pistol, well worth the work you´ve put into them

Thanks TIG, Garibaldi Guards are a real possibility. Dixon do a single figure stood ready, it would mean a lot of work to get a full varied unit ready but hey I love a challenge! As for the vivandieres when I find a couple of suitable figures I will make a start, its only fair to give my Zouaves some support! and its something I cant really say I have seen in many collections. Thanks TIG you have given me more food for thought.

Pauls Bods, thank you for your kind words they are very much appreciated. You do some astounding work so your words are a true compliment! thank you again
cheers for now Russ

Loving those vignettes!! Its been something I've given considerable thought to recently …creating some genuine vignettes yet still usable on the wargames table?

Command groups, Artillery and ambulance bases are already underway …must give some thought to skirmish bases?

tigrifsgt04 Apr 2015 2:12 p.m. PST

Russ, I may have given you a bad idea as far as the Vivs. The only one I could find in 28 was a French Napoleonic. It doesn't look like a good fit for ACW. Then I looked at Old West females for possible conversions, and didn't find anything there either. Sorry. TIG

Thanks GoodOldRebel, it was nice being able to make a bit of an effort on the bases. Like I said I have a bit of a soft spot for Berdans so it only seemed right. I have made a start on the rucker ambulance but how I'm going to base it is another question. I think it will be a stand alone model so its not as restrictive.

TIG' its a still a goer of an idea, I may have a figure or two I could convert! so I will just need to add a bit of greenstuff, the seed of an idea is planted and I know pretty much how I am going to do it. So watch this space!
