This addition to the AVID Assistant app presents live-rendered images of a box miniature in a tilt block, color coded to match your AVID color, pulling the orientation from the AVID itself. We'll also add a second view that puts the box miniature in an AVID ball, with any bearings that you shot showing up in the appropriate AVID window.

Here's the AVID Assistant app rendering a box miniature and tilt block to show new players how to set them on the map. (See the image at full size.)

The cool part is that you can rotate these views in 3D to see them from whatever angle you want. The video shows it in action.

This will happen if the Kickstarter reaches its first stretch goal: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1386934735/ad-astra-games-avid-assistant

We're very close to funding the stretch goal!

Ooooh, was wondering when you'd get around to the 3d rendering!

Do. LIKE!

One of the things we're hoping to enable is in-app purchases of models…so you can have rendered-ship-in-ball images (like at the end of the video) with models that might match your minis…

We'll be happy to set up a marketplace for other manufacturers to sell models that have the right polygon counts to work with the tool, of course.

Remember: So long as everyone's blowing up spaceships, we all win.

We've hit the $7,000 USD stretch goal, so the 3D rendering will be part of the AVID Assistant app! Thanks to everyone for your great support. This is going to make it much easier for new players to get into the game.

159 backers, $7,131 USD
