Sounds more like the old `Star Cops` TV series.

Space Patrol, eh? Sounds so pulpy sci-fi. I like it.

I was listening to an old radio drama a few months ago (Dimension X or X Minus One) where the east and the west were long at war, each side being advised by a powerful AI. The AIs realize how stupid the fighting is, so they connive to manipulate birth rate statistics to show the human race will die out and the best breeders are an American male computer scientist and a Russian female cosmonaut, so the nations decide to ship them off to the moon to pro-create.

While on the moon, the AIs fake an attack by aliens, which gets fought off by the couple, but the "aliens" vow to return. Humanity decides to unite to fight the alien threat, the couple gets hitched, the AIs feel smug.

Just sayin'. 28mm Fanatik's Russian space patroller reminded me of fertile Russian cosmonauts…
