Hi all, the first regiment is ready to fire!
There are 51 figures on the base, including flags and officers. Feel free to comment!

Nice work. How wide is that base? |

Question – were the standard bearers standing behind the line like that in real life? My readings of the period led me to believe that the flags stay in the front-center of the line, even during shooting. As the unit takes casualties, the formation contracts, converging on the flags. There's also descriptions of the standard bearer going down during shooting and someone else picking up the flag only for that person to also be shot down – if the flags were in back of the line no one would notice that the standard bearer went down. Finally, there's the many descriptions of hand-to-hand combat where everybody keeps trying to wrest the flag away from it's bearer – again if the flags were in back like that they wouldn't be subject to loss unless the regiment routed… |

Thanks for your replies, you are right, the flags belong in the line (I hope it's possible to remove the flags and put them in the line). The bases I use are 10 x 8 cm (because I have a lot of this and you can put a lot of figures on them!). more will follow, Michael
