Several years ago made a nice naval mat out of vinyl, Krylon Make it Stone and a lot of craft paint. However the color now bugs me as it is a bit too Caribbean, and not the North Atlantic which the majority of my games will be taking place. Have looked through a ton of craft paint colors, but wanting some recommendations from others who have tread down this path. Thanks! |

I used one of those polyester, navy blue blankets, and liked the look of it, in the past. Of course, a blue-gray, or green-gray color might work as well, in cloudy, or stormy weather. |

Grey! With patches of grey. And more grey – grey as far as the eye can see – relieved only by whitecaps…then down to the grey mess to eat grey food… |

I have to concur on grey. I've watched a lot of "Victory at Sea" and all of those North Atlantic actions took place in black and white. Doug |

Yup – gotta agree with Doug. Just watched The Cruel Sea again and it's grey in that too |

The North Atlantic is grey in polychrome as well. |
