My friends David Raybin, his son Ben, and I have been working diligently to release our line of Inflatable Wargame Terrain.( IWT) Puntstarter has funded the start up for this and it is to be released on-line in the morning. We are looking for the level of interest for the first release. WWII seems to be a favorite as the first release with Ancients coming up later since the terrain is so markedly different. Each pad is made of sturdy plastic and is 36 inches by 36 inches and comes in a rolled tube. You lay them out (they are geomorphic at the edges). Then you blow up each in turn via a small air pump. I suppose you could use lung power but that is a chore. Anyway, up pops trees and hills and ruined houses (in the WWII version). It's all in color so there is nothing to add although you could toss a handful of scatter on the finished table. That is it. It is functionally identical to a small (albeit much thinner) air mattress and indeed David is using a failed manufacturing plant that did just that to make the IWT pads. The bottom of the pad is flat. The sides are squared-off and vertical and the top has the terrain. It is a wonderful addition to wargame terrain development. Why carry all that heavy stuff around? Just take a few tubes of lightweight terrain with you, blow it up and start rolling dice. They are to be sold for 40$US per pad as an introductory price. In light of a production run, indicate here if you would be interested and about how many you might purchase with no obligation. So there you have it. Why mess around with flat terrain mats? The Inflatable Wargame Terrain is just the ticket. Oh, yes, the scale. It is scaled for 15mm to 30mm. David is planning the first physical release at Nashcon on Memorial Day.BUT you can purchase online on April 1. |

LOL, I feel for that but in my defense it was still March 31 here (and the afternoon at that) so I wasn't quite in the April Fools mind set yet. |
