Thanks all,
Very Glad you like them.
I wanted more mechs like the DP9 ones but you all know they don't come cheap.
The card plate armour is all scored with a knife into "U" cross sections. The "X's" are indentations made with different sizes of flat screwdrivers and Superglue is indispensable.Philips or pozidrive screw drivers are not good.
I tried to machine x shaped slots on a flat plier to make embossed "x's" but the card will not be marked with the force of your hand alone. Any ideas are welcome, perhaps a hand letter punch , like the ones they use in metalwork???
Plastic sprues from different makers was used.Keep a look out for the nicely shaped mould gate parts ( the part that actually touches the model on the sprue ). Heated Sprue rods where used for the pipes etc.
Oh another thing, a Jeweller's saw is a must but be prepared to break some blades, the plastic heats whilst sawing & jams tight.
I use a flat chisel like blade to chop plastic ( this allows you to chop straight down & avoid you spraining your wrist, been there done it )
They will indeed look good when painted up& let's face it one can never have enough mecha :):):).
Well hope this helps,if anyone one wants more detail , then send me a mail at zrunelor@gmail.com
