I just got a note from the Traveller, Citizens of the Imperium website, that someone tried to log-in under my ID five times in the last 24 hours. Is there a way to track, and/or identify them further, than just the quick on-line search I did, using IPAddress.com? I found out they are located in NY, NY, in postal code 10118, which is about 3,000 miles from my location. |

Are you sure that this is a legitimate e-mail? It could be that someone is fishing you for info. This is assuming you are a member of that site. Other than that, they are trying to compromise your system by getting you to click on a malicious link. |

Was a computer tech and had to clean out systems that got hacked. Look up the site of "Traveller, Citizens of the Imperium website" on a search engine or if use it if have it stored on your system. NEVER go to a link from an Email. This is one of the tricks that is used to get you into their site. Always assume anyone who is trying to contact you are the bad guys. |

FWIW you never really know where your ISP is connecting you to the world from. I have a freind in SoCal that Facebook insists in posting from Texas. I constantly see my connection as being the other end of the state. |

They didn't ask me for any info, or provide any link, just the ISP hacking attempt notice. Therefore, I think the notice is legitimate. I was on the site, last night, or early this morning for just a short while, but only logged in once, and didn't muff my password log-in. |

Notice is legitimate--there's been an ongoing series of attempts to log into COTI using a variety of accounts. If the "hacker" is at all sophisticated, they'll be hiding their real IP by going through proxies, compromised systems, and the like. |

In any event, it's probably better to change your password regardless. |
