"Beautiful ain't it? I thought so, and based on the quality of the Purple Wyrm I took a punt on it. I have to review this product.

Do not buy it. It is not fit for purpose.

This product will not yield miniatures you can paint to a fine level and it most certainly will not give you playable miniatures if that is what you are after…"

I agree with this reviewer, crappy brittle figures. I lost interest in painting them. I didn't have as much breakage as the reviewer, I was too scared to even try putting together the spell caster.

I do have the Umber Hulk, that was a nice figure. Fun to paint, really painted up well.

An excellent review, that should help buyers decide whether to buy that set or not. Probably not.

I have the umber Hulk kit, and as Chris says, there are no problems at all with that one. And the Eye Tyrant/Beholder is also very nice, with fairly robust eye-stalks.

"Limited Edition"… That is a non-starter for me. Period. It is a marketing tool which turns me away immediately, as it is used to justify a higher price, regardless of quality. There are other companies to buy from. Of course, YMMV. Cheers!

It's also something of a misnomer, in this case. I know some of these have been readily available for at least a couple of years.

I'll add to the list of complaints by mentioning many of these sets are not really DM friendly. Take the one above. What if I need 2 Intellect Devouerers? Buy two sets obviously. And who wants to buy just one gnoll. Our last encounter with gnolls had a dozen of them plus the pack Leader. About the only ones I'm interested in are the Behir and the Umber Hulk…but I have FOUR of the old metal ones from the old (3e) D&D minis line…

You don't want to know how many Umber Hulks I have in my collection, dating back to the late '70s. Same goes for Beholders. And Owlbears. There's just something about those iconic DID monsters . . .
