I have found this this weekend. The original Stronghold website via the wayback machine. It is full of all manner of HOTT goodness. I particularly like the army lists, but the whole site is worth perusing.

The Tactical Manual is back up.

If this is Kaptain Kobold's work then respect to him.

Awesome…that was always an inspiring site. I don't even play HOTT but the whimsy found there was boundless.

I have a few articles there. It was a great site.

I've been looking for all this stuff without success -brilliant. Especially the Army Lists.
This morning I was sorting stuff out for a Viking DBA army -now it's become the army of Noggin the Nog -or Nogbad…

Glad you all like the find. I can't really get a fix on the Wayback Machine/Internet Archive as I've tried for The Stronghold before without success. Then I just kind-of stumbled upon it through a random link.

In any case its good to see it still can be accessed. It didn't sink in the swamp then.

The Tactical Manual is the cream on the cake I think. Lots of good opinions as to the various unit types.

"If this is Kaptain Kobold's work then respect to him."

No effort on my part – the Wayback Machine does it by itself :)

I do get asked about the Tactical Manual a lot so I guess I should find a way of making it available again. The blog format isn't the easiest way to do that, but if I can dump all of the info into a single document I guess I could post it as a PDF on my Free Stuff page. I'll see what I can do – unlike the resources this site can draw on, my editorial staff consists of one part-time crossdresser :)

I'm afraid a lot of the 'whimsy' might not make it onto the blog. I do post old pieces from the original Stronghold from time to time but I apply an editorial hand to it all. Some of the pieces on there haven't dated well or were, quite frankly, rather too silly. I take my HOTT seriously :) However I'm open to requests.
