I saw an add in an old WI for plastic Scots Covenanters with metal heads. I assume the heads were the flat bonnet, from the illustrations. grin
I guess the point of buying that box is to get the Covenanter heads, but one never knows. grin

Anyway…
as those paying attention to my ramblings here, I am assembling a force of Southern AWI militia who were Loyalists of Scottish descent. I am using King's Mountain Over the Mountain Men. I am using the stiffened bonnet, which just does not look right.
So, if anybody has a handful of those Covenanter heads, and has no use for them, send me a PM or reply here.

Alternately, does anybody else make those heads? I have long given up doing head swaps.

I thought Warlord Games made a set of covenanter heads but all I see is a headless bonnet set:

So they are not heads but hats. Bummer.

Should have used my Lowland infantry from the Jacobite range – short coats, flat bonnet and blanket roll. :)
ECW ranges may be a sourdce of loose heads ?

Does your Lowland infantry have guys in coats with broadswords?

spontoon31 Mar 2015 10:36 a.m. PST

Make them out of greenstuff?

Winston,
Short jackets. Broadswords can be purchased separately. :)

The only 28mm manufacturer I know is Redoubt. Their ECW Lowland Scots have seperate heads with broad, flat bonnets and are mostly bearded. They don't seem to show them on the figures on their site and they aren't offered as packs of separate heads. That being said, they supplied me with Musketeers heads for my Montrose Irish many years ago, so they may be able to help.
Green stuff would work, or the Crann Tara figures would add variety to other figures. I didn't know there were such units and I'd be interested to see the unit when it's done. Thanks and best of luck.
