Finished the next batch of French Poilus for our Verdun 1916 club project. Minis are all from Paris-based Forgotten & Glorious Miniatures. Also finally got around to photo some of the beautiful terrain build by fellow club memeber, Nils. More pics of the amazing terrain boards and some background on Verdun on the blog: blackpowdergames.blogspot.se |

Thanks guys – yeah, Nils really did an outstanding job on the terrain. It shall be a pleasure to play some WW1 trench raiding games on this table! |

Stunning work on the Poilusw Chanzy and a fantastic blog, have seen your Early war Germans elsewhere and love the brushwork. Can I ask what colours you used for the French blue Grey? Fantastic work sir |

@Johny Boy: Sure, it's a mix of colors and brands, but here goes. Base tone: Foundry 75A "British Blue Grey" Mid Tone: GW Lothern Blue + Foundry 81 B + 81 C "Soviet Equipment Green" High Lighting: Mid Tone mixed up with any light grey at hand. The Horizon Blue is quite difficult to define, and uniform colors will also change over time, especially in trench warfare will all the mud, dirt etc. So, with a mix of blue grey and a tint of green grey, you can't go wrong really. Good luck with the painting! |
