I finally got around to making the battle report for the Jackson Gamers first game using "Lion Rampant" rules. We did a 3 on 3 game using the "Bloodbath" scenario from the rule book. link The rules are very well organized and readily understandable. Since many of the mechanics and almost all of the organization is built upon the venerable "Rules by Ral" and those have been our go-to medieval rules, we were able to launch right in to the game. The game went well and we'll definitely be using these rules again. Jim |

Great looking and fun game by all accounts. Unfortunately, I can't help but think about fish when units are "battered" in this game … !! |

Did I see spearmen from the Minifigs Nevsky range in there ? I've got to try these rules – bought and browsed only so far. |

MajorB – I like battered, fried fish! Desert Fox – I bought the hills many, many years ago from our local Hobby Town. They are flocked, hard plastic forms. They came as a set. Unfortunately I no longer recall who made them. I added the crest lines. 20thmaine – They are from the MiniFigs Nevsky range. Back in the day I bought what appealed to me so I have figures from several different "true 25mm" ranges that cover the armor and weapons of several hundred years of history. That juxtaposition may bother the medieval purists, but to me it doesn't matter. Jim |

I have to chime in and thank you for first a great Bat Rep but also for providing such a wonderful trip down miniatures lane. My partner Ray and I had just opened our shop in Newburyport Mass called the Toy Soldier (1979) a spin off from Peter Rice's shop in bath Maine. Anyway the Mini Fig Nevsky line was out. We were playing my first set of rules KATMA and the figures were wonderful. I think they have stood the test of time so thank you. Chris |
