If so, the 2009 discovery of a new Cappadocian underground network (now named Derinkuyu) might be of interest to those who are looking to make terrain for their subterranean survivors: link For those needing visual representations of what Cappadocians were able to do below ground:
If you have built something similar … got pics to share? Dan PS. Just Google subterranean Cappadocia for more images. |

We used GW hobbit goblins from the boxset as lesser morlocks and used combatzone rules to fight it out . Done this a few years back so there are probable newer alternatives now. For the record they may be a good large morlocks for 15 mm sci-fi as they are quite small in there native 25 mm. link |

Feet Up Now, Did you make your setup more open and accessible from the top, or more accessible from the side like a cross section? Or did you go for a hybrid of the two, with the cave walls in a stepped set up? We're you able to take any pics? Dan |

Post-Apocalyptic Underground Dwellers, or PAUDs. I'd use traditional horizontal dungeon terrain. I've seen a few vertical Necromunda game setups online, but they're few and far between, and I think they'd be limited in their use. |

Kind of assumed that was the case, JP. What's more, I think anyone who didn't get that reference should take this flashlight and go see what that noise was. |

If you're asking about figures for post apoc degenerates, ive always thought the gw lotr hunter orc infantry painted in human fkesh tones. would work well. |

What if it was just passing itself off as a PAUD? Dan |

What, a faux PAUD? Good Gaud… |

Guys, Sean68333 seems to have found a solution that could be applied to the case of a subterranean multi-level layout. In fact, he he has gone even further and done it as tiles: TMP link Dan |

Good call. I was over-thinking it as far as construction options go. A floorplan that's a mix of 'street layout' and 'cave system', cut out of pink foam, would work very well. Ooh… inspiration strikes! Do it in vertical, cutaway cross-section view – like those first three images… Butt the table up against a wall, prop the board on it's edge against the wall, and play vertically! If you're going all out: slope the foam board slightly on one face so the bottom's wider than the top. It'll be a little more stable, and the 'lower levels' will be a bit more accessible for moving figures around. |

I think I mentioned elsewhere that GW, US, did a vertical one, sort of a foam cube, though I assume it was hollow. Pretty sure you could walk your combat around the corners. I've a vague sense of one that was basically three sheets of foam, tunnels carved in the outer two, and small passages through the middle third board. No idea who. Doug Edit: Just realized the other nagging feeling I had was how much the piccies made me think 'Ant Farm'. |

Doug, if I remember correctly, that GW US cube-y model was built at and on display at a FLGS in Joliet, Illinois. The shop is long gone, but was huge for a time and that model was enormous. Like a combo Space Hulk/dungeon maze-y block-y giant. Came above my eye level and I'm over 6'2" |
