Hi everyone, I just want to let everyone know that Supplement #1 is out! Supplement #1: Squads, Solo and Co-op is the first, free, supplement for SpecOps! This Supplement contains rules for using regular squads in your game as both additions to your force, as opposing forces controlled by the other player, or as non-player controlled forces in solo and co-op play. This supplement also contains a solo/co-op scenario which pits two SpecOps operatives trying to escape from indigenous personnel. SpecOps: a Gruntz Module is available at WargameVault here: link |

So does this then form a sort of inbetween stage, between SpecOps and Gruntz proper? |

Not really, since the squads are still not the focal point, the individual operators are. The Squads mostly provide a foil and something for the operators to shoot at, although at numbers even poorly trained troops can overwhelm SpecOps teams! The whole time I was writing SpecOps, I had in mind a team of SpecOps troopers sneaking into a base populated by lowly normal squads of troopers. I also enjoy Solo and Co-Op games. I still wouldn't really recommend vehicles, especially larger ones, in SpecOps games, just because the general lack of AT weaponry. But if you know whats coming you can be ready for anything! |

Getting a lot of "Where Eagles Dare" vibe all of a sudden. "Where space-eagles dare" ? :-) |
