We did it!

Reaching the base funding level in less than 48 hours was more than I expected. My sincere thanks for supporting this project and I really appreciate the confidence you have in this Kickstarter and WarTime Miniatures to bring it to fruition. You can be assured that I (WarTime Miniatures) will be working at 110% towards this goal and I now look forward to the next 28 days building on this start and unlocking as many of the stretch goals we can.

You can add to your pledges or even make another to help start funding the stretch goals. With 28 days getting through most if not all is certainly possible (and I have a couple of others should we meet the current ones)!

regards
Mathew

Japanese SNLF/IJA Kickstarter is just short of the $9,000 USD (All $$ values for the project are in Australian Dollars) mark now.

if $10,000 USD can be reached there will be 2 further stretch goals: 4 x Figures with Type 100 SMG and possibly a Type 91 105mm artillery piece with both spoked and pneumatic tyres. This will take it to around $15,000. USD

Please spread the word.

For those who may be curious about the SNLF here is a link which has some general information:

In brief (using the above link as reference), the Japanese Special Naval Landing Force (SNLF) were Imperial Japanese Naval Infantry (or Marines). They were generally named after their home base, were well trained (including amphibious landing operations), disciplined and motivated.

There were 12 Special Naval Landing Force units in existence in December 1941. Whether on the offensive in the early stages or the defensive the SNLF in the Pacific participated in campaigns from the Philippines to Borneo, Guadalcanal, Milne Bay (PNG) and Tarawa (to name some known ones).

They were equipped and armed similar to the Imperial Japanese Army, but some identifiable features included wide use of Canvas helmet covers and netting, Anchor patches on the helmet and upper right sleeve, 3/4 sleeves in tropical version of their uniform and a distinctive gas mask and canister. There uniform was also more of a olive/drab green than the Khaki of the IJA (rough colour guide).
