While the FoW King Tiger is pretty nice, $23 USD US for one or $65 USD for the 3-pack is rather expensive! Sure they come with some 'stuff' but I don't want 'stuff' as I have lots of it. I have seen some of the older threads, just looking for any new info. Any leads on new King Tigers coming out by PSC?

Your thoughts on some of the others that you guys may have please!
Any GEMS?
Any to avoid?

Did you try Old Glory/Skytrex?

Dynaman878926 Mar 2015 4:57 a.m. PST

GA Models has them. Not everyone would call them nice. All resin so the gun barrels on the beast would be fragile.

Mine are all old Roco models. A bit large, but hey, they are King Tigers! Decent enough although obviously not up to PSC standards, Porsche and Henschel turrets, and good and sturdy.

Quality Castings one is pretty well done.

JD Lee26 Mar 2015 9:04 a.m. PST

Go with Old Glory.

Ouch!

That makes my wallet hurt.

Used to get nice, 1/76mm resin models with detailed zimmerit for only 2/3rds that price, but that was a while ago.

The Game Models piece looks pretty good to me. It depends on what you are after. Price certainly is appealing.

Thanks Gents!
I'm having trouble deciding. Few internet pics are up saying what mini that I am seeing except FoW. I am in the USA. I spied the GM units in the pic above. I emailed 'Craig' there for some pictures. The outline / basic shape looks good. OTOH, some of the others do look off a bit.

In the Tigers that I am looking for, major shapes must be right. I have the parts and skill to correct a few deficiencies. Right-sized is important too. Throwing detail on to enhance something plain is easy too. Am taking a break from 1/285 planes, a real love affair. I have 25 masters being cast by RAIDEN and Dave at Raiden/I-94 got a package from me the other week with some goodies. As a minis crafter, I have NOT made much time for figure painting or gaming. With a batch of long-promised planes done, I am indulging myself with some 15mm. I figure a few King Tigers would make an interesting fight for my US Sherman Medium Tank Company. I want realistic fights, units off TO&Es or KStN, no 'balanced' fights. I did not have any in Iraq 10 years back, fight with what you have and hope your pals are near when the shi+ goes down.

Post up some of your King Tigers and who makes the mini. If you have several suppliers, kindly post-up side by side!

Hi Kettbo, the GM King Tiger is one of his newer models and his modelling skill has improved over time. Although the pictures on the site are not so nice looking they models paint up very nicely. If going with GM I would suggest getting them all in Panzer Gray and painting them from there, the Gray acts as a base coat and is easy to paint over.

The Forged in Battle King Tigers are nice. Cheap too.

Razor7827 Mar 2015 12:26 p.m. PST

I second the Forged In Battle KTs. Over the last few years I have acquired enough to outfit Peipers entire 501st Schwere at 1 to 1 and didn't break the bank to do it.

kettbo27 Mar 2015 10:34 p.m. PST

FORGED in BATTLE 3pk is 19.5 Pounds Sterling is just over $29 USD USD plus whatever it takes to get them in the US.

QRF at 9 Pounds look nice too

You gents in the UK are SPOILED with so many miniatures crafters! Thanks for the pics! Any other brands to show?

QRF at 9 Pounds look nice too

Um… want to look at the price again? ;-)

kettbo29 Mar 2015 11:17 p.m. PST

apology to Geoff, that is 6 Pounds per

GeoffQRF30 Mar 2015 2:08 a.m. PST

That's ok – and you can always order them through Mark at Scale Creep in the US (he may not list them, but you can still order them through him)

Thanks again Geoff and to all who have posted. Variety here consists of BF/FoW and more BF/FoW. :) The local store had a few 15mm Battle Honors vehicles that I bought. Must be older, I believe these would be Quality Casting product.

kettbo06 Apr 2015 8:28 a.m. PST

any more pic of your tiger tanks to post folks?

eptingmike19 Apr 2015 1:20 p.m. PST

I am a fan of the Old Glory ones(a bargain if you are a OG Army member), though the QRF ones shown above look good too.
There are caveats with the OG ones. They do take some work. If you enjoy the modeling aspect of this hobby, then you will probably enjoy them, otherwise, you may want to look else where. Mine took a bit of filing and some green stuff etc to get them to where I was happy, but I like that kind of stuff.
They look big and burly when done!
