Hmmm, I wasn't aware of this, but apparently the Russians are weighing in on the Falklands Islands dispute, and apparently some are worried that they might aid Argentina in trying to take over the islands again: link Given there is oil there, and Russia's play for the Arctic oil and gas resources, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they give it a go, in order to hit back over EU sanctions on them for the Crimean annexation. Plus, the could try to leverage "their" new territory for future claims in the Antarctic, too. |

Not aware? I'm sure Russian involvement was mentioned by someone in your last tome about the Falklands, or did you not read it? Same old news, slightly different angle, this has been done to death. You complained about both sides stirring the pot over this, and there you go, doing it yourself, over some dubiously accurate article. Enough already. This minor change in UK forces (which hasn't happened yet, in spite of the linked article talking as if it had already happened!) has generated too much tedious hot air already. |

Sorry Mako11, confused you with someone else over the same topic, mea culpa. However, this has still been done to death. |

Russia has been making noises about the Falklands recently (most notably three days ago, when a senior Russian minister stated that Russia had more claim to Crime than the UK did to the Falklands). There were some noises about leasing Argentina Su-24 Fencers a few weeks ago, but Russia needs cold, hard cash and that is something that is almost completely absent in Argentina (except in the president's numbered Swiss bank account, obviously). China is a far more likely candidate, as they're happy to accept land/resources/industries in lieu of cash and indeed, have just done so, as Tango laments. Argentina already has an air force team in China, investigating at least two types of fast jet and one helicopter type. So as Jarrovian says, this is somewhat old news. |

China however has no real mileage in upsetting a G8 economy to get friendly with an economic basketcase… |

Entirely agreed. I highly doubt that their 'assistance' will go beyond selling them kit. |

Given Russia's moves in Nicaragus, Cuba, and Venezuela again, I can see them adding the Falklands to the list too, just to up the ante. Rumor has it during the last Falklands War their aircraft, subs, and ships kept a close eye on the British fleet, as it sailed into the conflict zone. |

Better check it's not a 914 scam if she asks you to help get the funds from Nigeria, Armand. |

Well, we sold them a "incredible advance grower machine" which NEVER WORK!. Ha!Ha!. Don't mess with the Argentines… sometimes, we are worst than the Nigerian Ministers who have so many money that want to share with you!! (smile). I understand the people of the Islands… who could want to form part of US???? (Ha!Ha!Ha!). No, just kidding, people in general here is very good, we failed at the top of management. Glad to enjoy the humor with you boys!. Amicalement Armand |
