Well, it seems the designer is no longer answering posts, so I'd like to get some input or ideas about various issues with the rules. One of my first – each 3 damage points in a single weapon damage causes a critical hit. That seems fine for a FFG or DDG, but it does not take into account that there should be less criticals on a larger ship for that same amount of damage (CV or CVH or CG). Anyone come up with a good idea about this? |

Haven't seen, or played the rules, but you could modify them by vessel size/class/tonnage. Say one critical for 6 DPs vs. a cruiser. Perhaps one critical for 10 – 12 DPs vs. a carrier, unless the shot goes into the hangar deck, or hits a bunch of aircraft that are armed and fueled on the flight deck. |

Liked the rules, but found any sort of support lacking. |

Actually, I've been thinking about combining the weapons scale as well as setting the directors to A(ttack) or D(efense) with Shipwreck (I am getting fonder and fonder of the Very Short – Short-Medium – LOng – Very Long distance scale – the more I consider it, the better it models reality – I mean does a XYZ Missile simply travel exactly 22.5 nautical miles and fall straight down into the sea and cannot possibly hit a ship at 22.75 miles distance (ala Harpoon) or does it have a performance envelope wherein some missiles travel 20 miles and some 25 and so forth). But I also like the damage charts in Mal Wight's Modern General Quarters (one roll for system damage, one roll for hull damage). Oh, the humanity of it all. And you are right, Todd – no support for SBG. |

Really I used to talk with him a lot, have to fire up the email and see if he responds. |

I found support for the rules to be good. Wonder what is going on? |
