"2nd Gen Compatibility" Topic

Hi:
20 years ago I painted half a regiment of British Lt Dragoons from Minigs 2nd gen, now I'd like to paint the second half, anyone know what figures would be compatible?

I don't think there is anything that is particularly close style-wise. Size-wise Warrior, Naismith and Chariot I think are reasonably close. Which, uniform are your figures in? Are they wearing shakos or tarletons? Chariot do both but only their ones in shako come on walking horses (which I think you would need to fit alongside 2nd gen Minifigs).

I haven't seen the Chariot figures in the flesh but I think they are 15s rather than 18s.

Keep an eye on eBay. 2nd generation figs turn up from time to time, and actually, British figs are the 2nd gens that turn up most often. You'll see a lot of limber riders and howitzers, of course, but other stuff turns up from time to time as well.

Also, if you're just looking for a handful of figs, post a WTB notice on the Marketplace. Somebody might have some extras laying around.

It will be worth your search, I saw again a Russian Dragoon Regiment I started with 2nds and finished with another manufacturer, not very pleasing to the eye.

Heritage/Empire figures, are matched nicely with 2nd gen. Table Top(TTG), Jacobite, and Roundway would also be OK.

You have opened a can of worms for me. My original 4 Minifig figures of My Moscow Dragoons are getting transferred and are going to be my only Ingermanland Dragoons. I figure my army is getting to big and could use a police department. I'll replace them with the later addition figures.
