"SLOW WEST with Michael Fassbender in the lead role. Set at the end of the 19th century, the movie follows the story of 16-year-old Jay Cavendish (Cody Smit McPhee) as he journeys across the American frontier in search of the woman he loves. He is joined by Silas (Michael Fassbender), a mysterious traveller, and hotly pursued along the way by an outlaw named Payne (Ben Mendelsohn)."

So, if the story is about "Jay", how is "Silas" the lead role?

nazrat25 Mar 2015 7:00 a.m. PST

Because he's "mysterious"?

Beacuse Fassbender is a "star"?

Pardon the thread necromancy, but I came across discussion of this film while researching online the background behind another movie I've posted about on TMP recently, 'Tracker'; the connection: both were filmed in New Zealand.

I've yet to catch 'Slow West'. If you've seen it how would you rate it?

Well, I've seen a part of it. Didn't grab me so only watched a few minutes. Wouldn't recommend paying to see it, but give it a try yourself if it's available free on a streaming service you have.
