The Soda Pop Miniatures / Ninja Division kickstarter is live now for the Ninja All-Stars miniatures boardgame. Moar chibi wonders and cross-over stat cards to use with Super Dungeon Explore =^,^=

The first wave of their first KS (separate from CMoN) Forgotten King is in US port now and waiting to clear customs and dock-labor mayhem. I saw the preview Forgotten King figures that had been flown in when I was at Pax East. The sculpting is stunning, as great as the minis looked in the pre-production images, they are even better in person! I trust Ninja All-Stars will also proceed in a reasonably timely manner and with superb figures.

IMO, they should have waited til Wave 1 SDE:FK was in most backer's hands before launching this.

That aside, this looks cool. Better since I respect the "one pledge level mega-deal", and especially with the "you can add all this stuff on, but 95% of it will be available for sale later" model.

I understand that KS exclusives are great for amping up initial sales. But former Ninja Division partner CMoN goes apeBleeped text with them, which usually prompts me to not bother with their individual games at all. Cost aside, I'm not going balls-to-the-wall for a game I've never played, and acquiring exclusives after the fact is DEFINITELY money-intensive.

Mini-rant over.

Since splitting with CMoN, Soda Pop has gone to a No-KS-Exclusives policy, which I am very happy for!

I wasn't planning to go in on this, but I'm actually finding it very tempting; the concept seems fun and the models look good.

I thought I'ld be able to pass on this one too. Then they had to add the Super Dungeon Explore corss-over cards and the temptation overwhelmed…

I got lured into this by the fun minis and the SDE cross-over, but it turns out the rules may be really fun too! They'll be posting a beta version online in the immediate future. Turns out this will be very much like Blood Bowl, with teams of Ninjas competing in arena league play. =^,^=
