Well, speak of the devil . . . . they arrived today, delivered by courier(?) at the unearthly hour of 8.00pm. They are certainly nice figures, twenty one spearmen, two officers/standard bearers and a trumpeter. Also a sheet of twenty three shield transfers, twenty one for scutae and two round. Twenty one scutae and the same number of thureos are provided (plus two round shields for the officers) but the transfers only fit the scutae (so far as I can tell) If, like me, you want to give your spearmen the smaller thureos shields then the freebie limited edition scutum transfers are no use to you. That's a real pity as they are superb transfers. If anyone fancies mine to put on their regular Carthaginian Victrix figures then I would happily exchange them for a couple of the sets of thureos transfers that LittleBigMen have done for Victrix – see here: link (note that's their spelling not mine!) I'm in the UK, in Scotland, (for the next wee while, anyway) if anyone is interested. I understand these freebie scutum transfers will not be sold separately, so . . . . . |
