I like toying around with heraldry and uniforms using MS paint or just pen and paper. I found some military star images 1 USA and 1 Soviet and used them to come up with the insignias below to serve my UEF forces. All federal soldiers wear their rank insignia on their collars.

What scale did you have planned for these? |

Greylegion it's for fluff only, although I might paint a rank marking on a suit of power armor, aircraft or mech. My UEF forces range in scale from 1/600 for brigade/division battles (Oddizal Osmy), 10mm company level (Reaper CAV) to 15mm skirmish (A mix of several.) I know that sounds weird but it works for me.  |

Ahhh, ok. I thought you were going to print these up got a particular scale. I was thinking 28mm or larger. |
