I ordered some palm trees and bamboo from TableTopScale and really like the palm trees because they have real wood trunks that easily cut to size (they come about ten inches tall) and the fronds are easy to adjust because they are a silk like material over metal spines. The bamboo are injection plastic and I cut them to various heights too. I'm using them for some 20mm Pacific island jungle and pulp scenarios. Fast delivery. Robert |

Robert….There have been several posts recently on these plastic bamboo plants because they are such realistic models. The company that sold Robert his bamboo sold 10 for $4.95 USD. On Ebay there are several companies out of China that sell bags of 100 for $10.00 USD with Free Shipping. I bought 200 figuring altogether from two companies. You get an e-mail acknowledging your order and right after that the package has shipped. Longest time I have waited for plastic trees from China is ten days. Before you buy any more think China. A company that buys for 10 cents a piece and sells for 50 cents a piece is flat ripping the customer off. |

It just came to me that one of the Chinese companies sells trees that have plastic leaves. I'm talking teeny tiny leaves. Trunks and branches are plastic and can be spread around in different positions. They are model railroad scale but the two varieties I bought are 4" and 5" tall. Like the bamboo they arrive jammed into a bubble wrap bag. When you pull some out of the tangle a mass of tiny leaves showers down. Woe is me! But shake off the loose stuff and they don't shed anymore. The price is very reasonable for what you get. |

I guess if all I wanted was a lot of bamboo then it might be a thought. But I wanted the great hand made palm trees too. Besides, sometimes paying a little more for one product when a distributor has figures, terrain and other stuff I plan to buy isn't all bad. I could probably shop allover for better prices on glue too, but my local hobby store has it there in stock when I buy paint so its really a matter of easy access and saving time. (So more time for painting and gaming!) I like ebay too but returning bad products like the trees you got usually ends up being a time and money hassle. I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese businesses since a friend got stung big time and had zero ability to get fair treatment after a deal. Robert |

Indeed, please buy locally whenever you can. If we dont, all the shops will be gone and the only place left to go will be the Net. I hate having to buy something I cant hold in my hands first. And yup, returns are a drag on Etail sales. |
