Just finished painting up some Force20 Ramcke Brigade figures. I like the posing and they were easy to paint up. They are slightly bigger than my SHQ early war FJR and slightly smaller than my Battlefield and Sgt Majors later war FJR.

Does anyone else make FJR in the tropical trousers or with lots of rolled up sleeves?

Thanks in advance, Robert

Hi moreminimen,
I was thinking about buying SGT Majors' minis but they look a bit unrefined and not very appealing (while I like Battlefileld minis a lot), May I ask what is your opinion about Sgt. Majors figures? Thank you

moreminimen24 Mar 2015 4:33 p.m. PST

Kungfucious – The Sgt Majors figures are easy to paint and I like the poses because they are very realistic. There is a difference in size among their figures and some of the weapons are not as well scaled as others. IMHO Battlefield Minis are more consistent although some of their helmets seem awkward. Size wise they are generally similar. I prefer the AB and Elheim and like the Force20 because they fit in better with AB and have really good posing.

Col Campbell – I've never posted any pics because the camera in my phone is, well, crap. I'll borrow a friends camera and get a Photobucket and post soon. Do you know which of the Photobucket links you're supposed to use on TMP?

Robert :)

Kungfucious – I forgot to say that the older Sgt Major's WWII are the figures I was talking about. Some of the new WWII and Vietnam guys seem to be a different sculptor.

Hi Robert,
thanks a lot for the info, I will look for the more recent sculpts from Sgt. Majors'. I definitely agree Ab Figures are the best figures on the market, but I like to experiment. Different sculpting styles pose an interesting challenge for a scale model painter. Thanks again

Stefano,

I actually think the newer ones are the ones are where you want to pay attention. As I understand it the Sgt Majors'stuff from the original releases, and then that first sculptor's stuff in the newer releases, is the better stuff. I don't know who they are or exactly how you tell except by eyeballing them.

Also, my apologies to everyone, I just noticed there's a specific thread for 20mm WWII figures… new guy posting mistake.
