OK, once or twice a year somebody asks if we paint eyes, and why are we so misguided as to paint/not paint them. Just to be different, I thought I'd ask about lips, perhaps postponing the next eye question until 2016.

For me, if somebody has his mouth open, I'll pant the inside and maybe the lips. I tend to do lips on female figures, using a pink Micron 005 pen.

What about the rest of you?

Who may be on a roll: the bug not only posted my last topic, but let me crosspost it as well!

Of course!

Karnophage20 Mar 2015 6:28 p.m. PST

I have before. Normally a Rose Brown on the upper lip only.

Winston Smith20 Mar 2015 6:33 p.m. PST

If they show up while drybrushing the face, then yes.
If not , no.

Pictors Studio20 Mar 2015 6:33 p.m. PST

No.

Ragbones20 Mar 2015 6:36 p.m. PST

For 28mm, yes.

Depends on the figure. Mostly no but I have on my 40mm figures.

only my own by accident

On female figure always. On others only if I want an old school look to them.

Rebelyell200620 Mar 2015 7:26 p.m. PST

I'll try facial features on 28mm (emphasis on try), but I cannot paint such fine details on anything smaller.

79thPA Supporting Member of TMP20 Mar 2015 7:26 p.m. PST

No.

Sundance20 Mar 2015 7:34 p.m. PST

Bright red, so it doesn't clash with their nails.

Deeman20 Mar 2015 7:50 p.m. PST

LOL…no.

RavenscraftCybernetics20 Mar 2015 7:58 p.m. PST

only on 6mm figs.

Bashytubits20 Mar 2015 8:59 p.m. PST

ALL of my 3mm infantry have had their lips painted. So there.

nsolomon9920 Mar 2015 9:27 p.m. PST

Only on 2mm figures

Gnu200021 Mar 2015 2:24 a.m. PST

I used to, but now they just get the same highlight as the rest of the face – unless I'm doing a figure for display.

I usually don't paint eyes either.

Martin Rapier21 Mar 2015 2:40 a.m. PST

When I did large scale model figures, yes. Wargames pieces? No.

Jcfrog21 Mar 2015 2:41 a.m. PST

Not mine.

Sometimes on 28mm

JimDuncanUK21 Mar 2015 2:59 a.m. PST

Now and again.

Huscarle21 Mar 2015 3:08 a.m. PST

I paint 28mm, so yes is the answer to both lips and eyes.

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP21 Mar 2015 4:27 a.m. PST

Nope

Rrobbyrobot21 Mar 2015 5:24 a.m. PST

In 28mm I paint both eyes and the lower lip. Sometimes the upper lip as well if the figure seems to need such. I don't bother with such detail in 15mm.

Ivan DBA21 Mar 2015 8:10 a.m. PST

Only twice, both were female figures.

bracken Supporting Member of TMP21 Mar 2015 9:07 a.m. PST

Yep, bottom lip only! thin line of bugmans glow. 28mm/25mm mind,I've not done that many figures smaller

14Bore21 Mar 2015 10:57 a.m. PST

only mustaches on my 15mm.

Legbiter21 Mar 2015 11:24 a.m. PST

Always on 20mm+ females. Red or pink lens, white line for teeth once dry. Otherwise, never.

wrgmr122 Mar 2015 10:06 a.m. PST

As part of the face to delineate it, yes.
